I forget how I came up with the idea for this shoot, but I do remember wanting to work with blood. Blood is so symbolic for a lot of reasons, but it’s also very taboo. It creates a story of its own.

The idea of self destruction is something that is in our daily lives and people spend their entire existence trying to deny it. The picture represents a heightened form of self sabotage. 

I asked my friend Kevin if he wanted to do some modeling and he was surprisingly enthusiastic. 

I love this kid to death for putting up with me for the 45 minutes it took to complete the shoot and I’m pretty happy with the final product. He was even willing to sacrifice some of his own clothes for the sake of the shoot. You may be seeing his face more on this blog.
